The WSO is hiring an Administrative Assistant in a part time role. The Wisconsin Society for Ornithology is a nonprofit organization whose mission is promoting the enjoyment, study, and conservation of Wisconsin’s birds. This person would have a primary role in membership services and assist with communications, publications, events, and funds development. We are looking for a collaborative contributor who cares about and can help us advance our mission with inclusive work statewide.

 The responsibilities for the position include:

  • Membership correspondence and engagement 
  • Database management
  • Assisting with publication printing and distribution
  • Researching and reporting on issues and funding sources
  • Writing articles for the newsletter and website
  • Scheduling, attending, and keeping minutes for committee meetings
  • Social media administration
Skills and experience needed:
  • Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and attention to detail
  • Strong correspondence and communication skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office or Google documents, including spreadsheet analysis
  • Professional writing style with good writing skills
Preferred experience:
  • Social media and website content and management experience
  • Ability to work in Google Workspace

The salary for this position is $25 an hour for approximately 20 hours a week.
