WSO promotes education.

WSO provides informational and educational materials in the areas of ornithology, environment, and conservation including:

• writing Fact Sheets about important bird-related topics.

• establishing a special Youth Grant Program to work with teachers and to develop programs specifically for youth.

• maintaining a current listing of approximately 275 significant national and state Bird/Nature Organizations.

• exhibiting at various state and regional environmental and conservation events.

• producing an outstanding slide and audio cassette set "Wisconsin Birds" for both elementary and adult viewer levels. An extensive library of additional slides is also available for loan (contact Stephen Lang, 608-249-5684).

• presenting a biennial ornithological symposium.

• maintaining a Speakers Bureau listing for other organizations and a Birder Contacts listing for use by individuals.

• actively supporting Wisconsin's Neotropical Partners in Flight program.
